Never Trust A Woman
Sept. 12, 1988
The Spectrum

I'm just glad I never broke Brent's heart. Anyway, great vocals, solos, and overall performance on this excellent Healy matrix. "Ah, what the hell!"

He's Gone

Compton Terrace Amphitheatre

Very fine post-Brent-era version with Bruce helping out on piano. The closing jam sounds like a segue into TOO, but leads into D/S.

Alpine Valley Music Theatre

Sandwiches Lovelight, but funky jamming in the outro. Bop bop

The Palace

Like 6/22/93 Deer Creek, this well-sung and -performed version is a nice capper to a strong evening.

Man Smart, Woman Smarter

The Palace

Vince teases Stagger Lee starting at 4:00 and continuing through Jerry's MIDI solo. A nice variation - has the band done this before?

Jerry's feedback whistle at around 6:15, bringing this freight train into the station. Outstanding performance.
Dancin' in the Streets
Jan. 3, 1970
Fillmore East

Audience clapping comes through on the soundboard - how great were the audiences at the Fillmore East? Another great Dancing from '70, with Bobby and Pigpen exhorting the audience to get on their feet.
Its All Over Now
Sept. 6, 1979
Madison Square Garden

Well-suited to Brent's skills on the Hammond B-3, this was possibly the first song in the GD repertoire that was reinvented with him in the band. He sounds great here, and Jerry of course rings like a bell during both of his solos.
Not Fade Away
Dec. 14, 1971
Hill Auditorium

Unfairly overlooked in a year of outstanding NFA>GDTRFB>NFA performances. The individual and collective musicianship is astonishing.
