Stunning rendition. Boys in full voice + Brent going off + all instruments on the Matrix sound incredible. What a beauty.

I’ve always wanted to prove Franken wrong about this one, so I’ve searched and searched…but he ain’t wrong. This one just stratospherically shimmers + gleams + evolves into a beautiful bonfire of electric light beams, firing + exploding. It’s the one. (Honorable mention: do yourself a favor and check out 2/26/81. Crispy + beautiful + slinkily groovin’ all at once, before rising up to interwoven magical tenderness).

This is def an all-timer, but there’s just no stopping 5/16/80. I’ve tried to convince myself there are better versions, but it just freakin’ shines too brightly. I’ve got 2/26/81 second (whole show is incredibly underknown) and this one 3rd.
