Jerry’s guitar is sublime and gorgeous, backed by Bruce’s piano, Vince’s keyboards and Bobby’s vocals are exactly perfect!

Standing On The Moon
Sept. 26, 1993
Boston Garden

Ridiculously unreal. Jerry was basically already dying by this point, so ragged, but he could still rip our hearts out, not just with his guitar, but with that voice...Mother McCree... these Standing on the Moons could be so gut-wrenching. This one is particularly powerful and gorgeous and scorching. To see Jerry up there creating such music... Rather be with you!!!! Yes indeed!!!

Wow is all I’ll say.
St. Stephen

Evans Field House, Northern Illinois University

Thoroughly rocks!! Tend to lean toward 68-70 Stephens thundering into The Eleven across the William Tell Bridge… but there ain’t nothing wrong with 76-77 Stephens….. rocking in and of those NFA Gardens…..
Dancin' in the Streets
April 12, 1970
Fillmore West

Absurdly heady! Whatta jam!! Plus it has that groovy Dark Star touch… Also absurd this ain’t on the first page, not even in the Top 20. Phil chose it for his Fallout Zone album because it’s ridiculous! As powerful as any listed before it, even Harpur’s College and Cornell, which are equally insane of course! A lot of Heads, for whatever reason, are not always fans of this tune…. And yet the best versions jam as great as ANYTHING BY ANY BAND! EVER. And this one’s amazing! So… I like.
