EPIC. EPIC. EPIC. This sequence, done perfectly from time to time, is one of those things that makes the Good ‘Ol Grateful Dead the finest band in the land. When the gorgeous Dew segues seamlessly back into UJB, then finds its way back to that Playin’……it’s as epic as any piece of music ever recorded, as powerful as anything Mozart, Beethoven, whatever, whoever, ever composed! I kid you not at all! And…. Epic is not a word to be used lightly!!!

Both Crypticals (the intro and the outro) are total scorchers on this night!!!!! As Bill Graham calls them at the start of this brilliant piece of music, the Last of the Gay Desperadoes were capable of being the greatest hard rock band in the world. Or as Miles Davis said, they were just a brilliant jazz band who played rock…..
