Drums -> Space
Aug. 7, 1982
Alpine Valley Music Theatre

Billy and Mickey play together like they were a big octopus on this one. 'The Wheel' comes rolling nicely out of 'Space'. Altogether, a G-rated D>P.

Playin' In The Band

Alpine Valley Music Theatre

An '82 vintage Playin' sandwich that finds the boys playin' in fine form. DP 32.

Morning Dew

Jerry really belts this one out. All of the attention to detail that you'd expect in a version from this era plus a good bridge solo.

Playin' In The Band
Sept. 16, 1972
Boston Music Hall

An enjoyable listen, but most notable, I'd say, for an excellent little peak that rises up like a volcano towards the end of the jam.

They Love Each Other
Nov. 30, 1973
Boston Music Hall

A good, light and airy version that shows quite well what this song was up to near the end of its first year in the rotation.

Jack Straw
Jan. 11, 1979
Nassau Coliseum

Yes, indeed, a great one...however, JS is one of those tunes that can never have a definitive version as it was always well represented throughout all eras of the band since its inclusion in the repertoire. But, is this essential listening? Of course, it is.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Aug. 21, 1972
Berkeley Community Theater

Man, back in those days Keith provided an absolute perfect economy of accompaniment.
Uncle John's Band
Nov. 17, 1973
Pauley Pavilion - University of California

The context for this one certainly couldn't be any better and it features beautiful, tasty playing with hardly a wasted note. Awesome stuff.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Pauley Pavilion - University of California

I'm surprised to see this one so low, too. Excellent China Cat here.
The Other One
Dec. 10, 1972
Winterland Arena

This version soars and melts down and soars again. 25 minutes of phenomenal stuff. And this show has more gems to offer.
