They Love Each Other

This is a CRAZY, trippy version! Jerry is INCREDIBLE on this one...so much so that some of the band loses it's place and somehow makes it work.

New Minglewood Blues

Particularly smoking version, everyone is firing on all cylinders, Bobby's vocal is great, Brent is fantastic, Jerry, Bob, Phil, etc...

"Dolly Haters"? Who hates Dolly? That's a new one to me, lol. I don't even think I know of a Dolly Disliker. Dolly Ambivalence, absolutely. But Dolly Haters?

It would be a lot better if Bob's guitar was in tune, unfortunately.
Cumberland Blues
Oct. 31, 1971
Ohio Theatre

This is an INCREDIBLE, impeccable, highly-inspired, textbook "Cumberland Blues", I can't BELIEVE this hasn't been rated higher. Outstanding version. Total fire. Two songs later would be "Dark Star", Dick's Picks 3. This could have easily made that CD (which was only the second set). HIGHLY recommended, this "Cumberland Blues". The type of "Cumberland" you always want it to be!
St. Stephen
Jan. 11, 1978
Shrine Auditorium

Wow. Just listening to this show, this is a FANTASTIC St. Stephen, a song that I love but also a song that isn't always played well! This springs effortlessly out of a long Playin' jam. This is Dead Heaven, this version. I know '78 very little; this version just opened my eyes. HIGHLY recommended. The entire song-sequence it's part of is great (Terrapin-Playin'-Stephen-NFA-Playin')
Picasso Moon
March 30, 1990
Nassau Coliseum

Best version of this song I've yet heard. Brent is particularly good. I only found out today that he was a co-writer on this tune. I still don't love the first half of the chorus (compositionally), when he starts singing about the picasso moon, but it's bearable on this one. This is, of course, a classic show, and everything was well-played that night (and that run). This and "Standing On The Moon" - two "new" songs I wasn't big on - are both more than worthy on this date (although I didn't think that at the time, when I was actually there! lol)
