Feel Like A Stranger

Marin County Civic Center

Funky stuff. Jerry makes some excellent licks and Brent has fine supporting contributions. Heady, for sure

Friend of the Devil

Palace Theatre

I really dig this version. Bouncy and understated. Bobby and Keith with excellent supportive rhythmic contributions. Jerry with country twang vocals

Let It Grow

William and Mary College Hall

End jam is very dense and thick. Very strong effort with great backing from the rhythm devils

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
March 26, 1987
Hartford Civic Center

Hot, compact ChinaCat jam, but the highlight is Jerry hammering the "headlight" lyric in Rider. Gave me chills (as most similar later versions do)

Estimated Prophet
March 27, 1987
Civic Center

Very tight version. Jerry nails the noodles richly, making for a far out excursion. Only issue is a seemingly rushed Eyes segue

I'll double comment till the lights go out... Regardless of era or any other markers or metrics, this one thrills like few, if any, others. The peaks are glorious glimpses of the beyond, the valleys are soulful renderings of agony - this version is the absolute purpose of this song.
Jack Straw
July 9, 1989
Giants Stadium

Throwing HAYMAKERS. Bobby bringing chaw on vocals, Jerry is red hot on leads, Lesh and devils killing the low end, Brent with passionate fills. This one is FIRE. Bobby screaming the refrain = goosebumps
Black Peter
March 13, 1982
Reno Centennial Coliseum

Oh man, this one is passionate. Very soulful licks from Jerry
The Music Never Stopped
June 28, 1985
Hershey Park Stadium

Brent goes NUTS in this. Chunky playing, combining with Jerry's triumphant leads, and Bobby's powerful rhythmic chords
