So clean, perfectly executed - acoustic butter

Around and Around

Not usually my song, but this one cranks into hyper speed, with Brent preaching on the organ and Jerry nailing the licks

Truckin'
May 4, 1979
Hampton Coliseum

Not the longest version, but hot with some interesting diversions into different territory than a normal Truckin'. Segues effortlessly into Stella

Fiery version - Jerry is ON. Mothership on hype. Worthy of a focused spin

Powerful ~16 min version with strong Chill Lesh prominence

He's Gone
Aug. 3, 1982
Starlight Theatre

Vocals are sweeter than honey, which lead to a bluesy solo that bleeds effortlessly into TOO. Very nice
Big Railroad Blues
Aug. 3, 1982
Starlight Theatre

A vibrant and bouncy version. Not a shredder like some other versions of the era, but the band is shining very brightly on this one
Let It Grow
Aug. 3, 1982
Starlight Theatre

Whoah, this one is MASSIVE. Jerry crazy nimble on the fret board, and the Rhythm Devils are completely out of control. This is a shot of pure adrenaline.
Smokestack Lightnin'

Carrier Dome, Syracuse U

Commenting again, this one needs WAY more dap. Bobby disgustingly growling the lyrics in a manner so fitting it would make Ol' Dirty Bastard grin grimily from beyond the grave. Then, the jam hits double time procession and gets super creative and full-band collaborative. Really choice
Playin' In The Band
Sept. 6, 1983
Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Ok, i am apparently far from done shouting about this show. This PITB is a wonderful, melodic soupy jam, that cosmically converges into a perfect pre-drums segment. One of the better 80's versions i have heard
