Ship of Fools

Edmundson Pavilion

Jerry's voice is crisp, his playing is sharp, and Keith does a great job with atmospheric organ fills

Doin' That Rag
Feb. 11, 1969
Fillmore East

An extra handful of stank on the end jam puts this well above a "normal" version. Definitely worth checking out

The Other One

Fillmore East

Not the longest version (due to time restraints), but this one starts like it is shot out of a fucking cannon

A short, incredibly dense, and interesting piece of space

Sugar Magnolia

Completes the Eyes > Wharf > Sug Mags triumvirate and this track is not simply an afterthought to cap off a hot show - i'm pretty sure Jerry blasts laser beams out of his fingers during a flurry of mid jam notes in this one. It truly slays

Excellent post and comment. This one is brimming with catharsis. It soars

Phil is a beast on the deep end. Band is locked in. Great version!

That one blew my hair back, HVD. They come out blazing, then slow it down, and tighten up with a really creative, upbeat jam. So choice. Definitely going to spin the rest of the show now!

Oh man, this one is incredible! Excellent calypso-type jam in the middle. Quickly vaulted to a favorite version!
