Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad
Oct. 16, 1981
Melkweg

This is a lightening fast bowl of nose clams, played 100x the speed of hyperspace. Worth it just to hear how fast the boys ventured to take this on

Not the longest, by any stretch, but incredibly airy and beautiful for Bobby's B-day. Worth a listen for sure

Feelin' Groovy Jam
Oct. 2, 1972
Springfield Civic Center

Super interesting jam out of a surprising Truckin' > NFBM jam > Drums > Feeling Groovy jam. The first few min of keys/drum/bass after drums is $$$$

Greatest Story Ever Told

Fox Theatre

Seriously high octane. A very subtle St Stephen lick by Jerry in the closing jam

Booming peak jam, then a flawless segue back into TOO

The Other One

Blasts into unabashedly into stratospheric discovery. The meat of the DS > O1 > Lovelight trilogy and it brings the beefy goods. One would think enough has been said about this portion and this show more generally, but when you put it back on after a long hiatus and it still floors you as hard as your first listen, and you realize just how insanely locked in and creative this is, it becomes clear yet again why it is deserving of all-timer status

50th anniversary of this yesterday and by divine coincidence, a vinyl copy I ordered arrive on the same day. I dusted off this holy trinity of DS > O1 > Lovelight last night, and yeah, my goddddd, this is still no doubt the absolute top tier of 80-90 min played in row that the boys have ever done. This DS is the pure definition of patience, intention, and really using your music to make art. 50 years later, still as jaw dropping as ever

Jerry's vocal tones and acoustic touches churn itself its so damn buttery.
Let It Grow

SO grateful to have this top tier show on crisp soundboard now with the new release. My god this version SLAYS. And to the first comment, I thought the same exact thing in the opening beat - is this technically disco?? Jerry's tone and phrasing on the initial solo is everything... The band swells around him to a massive peak. This version is a scorcher...

The cathartic peak to cap the spiritual roller coaster of this legendary second set. The peak in this is gorgeous. The boys bring the crowd back to earth with a sugar mags to ultimately close out this top tier set.
