The previous night's version was tasty, but this one is delicious. The nomination for this one is long overdue. The whole show is quintessential '76

Opens the first electric set from the last (and best) show from the 8 night run at NYC's Radio City Music Hall. Its nomination is long overdue!

Alert! This one not a throw-away. The best one of '74, no foolin'. Played with a perfect balance of gusto, gumption & grit.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
March 26, 1973
Baltimore Civic Center

^Hey Blade, I’ll have to agree with your assessment here. I’ll have to say I think they were more successful with this pairing ten days earlier in Nassau, which witnessed the debut of “Feelin’ Groovy” being slated into the jam that leads into Rider. Check out the China->Rider from 2/15/73 if you haven’t already. It predates the “Feelin’ Groovy” inclusion, and the outro jam just blazes into Rider with inspired gusto. It’s got that great ’73 sound (also my favorite year), but it very much carries the spirit of ’72.
He's Gone

Baltimore Civic Center

There are many great versions from this era (2/28, 3/24, 5/26 come to mind), but this one I return to most often. The groove is full of soul, gospel and a whole lot of spirit. The whole band is locked-in, serenading each other, and serenading you!
Candyman
March 26, 1973
Baltimore Civic Center

Best Candyman of '73 right here. Jerry's solo is striking, haunting and beautiful. Psychedelic-Country at its best.
Brown Eyed Women

Baltimore Civic Center

Complete with Jerry's signature '73 twang.
Mind Left Body Jam

Boston Garden

I've written about this welcoming, yet intimidating piece of music before. There's no such thing as the greatest Grateful Dead jam for all time. But then, on the other hand...
