NFA as a Jerry tune? Yup, here it is! "But you drive me back -- huh!" Hell yes!

Overlooked GEM! Swift yet deeply felt. Jerry CRUSHES it.

This one's the best. I love 1/22/78... but it's not this.

This version is AWESOME. Regarding Terrapin, though, I have an unusual opinion: The best ever is 12/31/87. Exhibit A: Brent's harmonic lines are vastly superior to Donna's. Added bonus: he actually hit the notes (more or less). Keith's harmonic contributions are missed, of course, but still, this version is just too... young. Ten years later, they REALLY nail it.

This version is NOT the best ever. Indeed, it's not even close. I mean, come on, gimme a break, people! LATER EDIT: So I've kind of come around (comin', comin', comin' around) to this version. I think it's unlike any other, in a good way. It deserves to be enshrined as the very best example of ONE way of playing the song. Maybe that way is the best way. I don't know. But I still refuse to believe that this (very idiosyncratic) version should stand as the "Best" version of the song, since it's so different from basically all later versions. (Some context for this judgment: I feel similarly about the "One From the Vault" version of Help>Slip>Frank. Amazing? Yes. The Best? .... )

Definitive. But check out 10/31/85, for something entirely different.

This version is indeed very, very cool. 7/19/89 is better -- at least, it's a better representation of the song -- but this is some slinky, sinister shit. Not to be missed.
