^^^ I'm not a fan of belittling other people's comments, but... "crashy noise"? "Random noise"? I'm... stunned. I've always considered this Dark Star to be sublimely, hauntingly melodic.

^^ FYI, as you can see (and hear) on the new CM soundboard (which is in all ways superior to the Dick's Picks copy), the "transition" from Candyman to Cumberland never happened -- Dick spliced them together. In fact, there's about three minutes of tuning between the two songs.

I'm finally getting around to learning how to play the GD version of this tune on the guitar. Back in the day, I shared the view expressed by many others here -- that LLR is a 'throw-away tune,' a placeholder until Jerry steps up again. But DAMN, this version smokes!!!

I agree -- this has always been my favorite Cold Rain & Snow. Everything is just on. Jerry's all over it, and the Jerry/Brent opening to the solo is done to perfection. This one should be rated way, way higher.
