NFA as a Jerry tune? Yup, here it is! "But you drive me back -- huh!" Hell yes!

For my money, this is THE definitive VLB. Don't rest content with Harpur -- it's great, but it ain't this. It seems to me that by 1970 they had grown tired of this tune. That's obvious, I guess, given that they soon stopped playing it, but I also think you can HEAR them growing bored with it. Back in '67, though, they just rip into it with unabashed ferocity. Crank this up -- it'll peel the paint off your Chevy.

^^^ Check out 9/28/93. For my money, it beats Boston '94 handily. The end isn't as drawn out as some, but it's *perfect*, rising up, up, to the high A, then it ends. Man, gives me chills just thinking about it.

This is NOT the best version of this song. Neither is 1995/07/09. I'm not sure which is (probably 1989/04/03), but this isn't it. --------- Five years later... I'm not sure what my problem was with this version. It's really strong -- and the biggest problem with so many versions of this tune is that they're "weak," not enough fire, energy. I'm no longer sure what's the "best" version of this beautiful song, but this version might well be the one.

Definitive version. Deserves every vote it's received.
