Alabama Getaway

Alpine Valley Music Theater

High-energy opener with some vicious guitar work by Jerry. Lyrically tight as well.

A hot version! T.C is a huge part of this one. Some real feisty organ textures all throughout, particularly toward the beginning and end of the jam.

I know there's a million of these, but WOW is this a spicy one. Big energy from the whole band. The audience is appreciative too.

Dirty, mean, sleazy, and slick. Some top-notch drumming here. Nice and ugly - just the way this song should be.

Bob and Jerry trade licks throughout, but it gets REAL hot toward the end. Twin country twangers absolutely killing it. Great one!

Funky is right. This is a great slice of uptempo Smokey Robinson-esque R&B. Great early version!
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

The Mosque

It’s this high because people like it. Nothing more complicated than that. Even though I wouldn’t put this version in my top 10, I find this one to be SUPER enjoyable throughout, hence my upvote. You don’t need any more reason to give it a thumbs-up. I’m sure most people here would say the same. That’s the thing about taste…it’s always subjective.

Wrong date. This was played on the 19th, not the 20th. There's a reason it's not listed here.
Wharf Rat
April 20, 1984
Philadelphia Civic Center

Again, this song wasn't played on this date. It's from the 19th, not the 20th. Filler on Dave's 35.
The Wheel

Philadelphia Civic Center

Because this song wasn't played on this date - it was played on the 19th, and included as filler on Dave's 35.
