Morning Dew
May 2, 1970
Harpur College

What is it about NY and Morning Dew? I've read quotes from Jerry where he said New Yorkers want you to go for the kill or something to that effect. Jerry definitely played that way in NY. Morning Dew is a big time song anytime it's played and no doubt Jerry knows that and recognizes an opportunity. That's six NY Dews in the top 20

Bobby is a beast on this one as with the Rythem Devils too. Guitar loud and intense.

There's more going on with Jerry's solos and playing then any other cold rain and snow I've ever heard. This is definitely the best I've heard of this era maybe more. Even the rifting at the end is different and more aggressive then normal. This is terrific.

Hell and yeah!!! Billy and Mickey at the end very primitive Indian sounding. Jerry sounding deep like he was feeling the lyrics.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Yes! If there's such thing as great team work in music this is it. Everyone is perfectly clear. I love those 73/74 China rider transitions where there's a brief slow down before Jerry and the boys pick it up again. Just beautiful. Keith is phenomenal here as well.
