Desolation Row

Capital Centre

This is the first Desolation that really clicked for me; could never forget the other Bob singing it, but not this one; from a solid first set--

Great guitar attack on this one . . . very strong . . .

Real heady, thoughtful, slide-style licks put this in another stratosphere.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Sept. 2, 1978
Giants Stadium

I'm just going to keep commenting on this -- hopefully more people will come around to it. Unreal . . . Stoney . . . Psychedelic . . . listen now.
Dancin' in the Streets
May 12, 1977
Auditorium Theatre

Seriously funky -- off the new May 77 official release ; out of a prety special half-step, too.
Not Fade Away
May 12, 1977
Auditorium Theatre

This one was the highlight of the whole night for me -- really good energy slowly building to some serious intensity -- into Comes A Time. Great pick.
Sing Me Back Home

Strand Lyceum

Very saddened they mixed Donna's last round of vocals out on the new Complete Europe set. My bootleg boards of this are much better than the release . . . I really can't get my head around why they would do that . . . this is one of Donna's best moments with the band. Don't think it's keeping with the spirit of the band and I'm truly disappointed they would chop up my Dead . . . this version is some of the most heartfelt GD of all-time, IMHO . . .
Looks Like Rain
June 9, 1976
Boston Music Hall

The band takes it really slow and bobby and donna are more than up for the challenge. A great rendition, with beautiful playing from phil, jerry and keith, too!
