Gorgeous soloing from Jerry and a tender vocal performance. The new mix on the Giants box really lets this one shine.

Bobby is dripping trippy chords all over the jam. SUBLIME

Surprised this has no votes. This version is played with a level of energy and precision CJ rarely ever got. Great set 2 opener.

El Paso

Felt Forum, Madison Square Garden

Lyrically precise, energetic playing, and everyone sounds like they're enjoying themselves. What more could you ask for on this one?

The Palestra, U. of Rochester

The shorter versions need love to, and this one hits all the sweet spots.

Cow Palace

Energy-wise, this one hits a very nice sweet spot in-between the one drummer era versions and the versions from '77. Silky, yet rockin'. I fuck with it.

Cow Palace

Promised Land doesn't really get better than this.
Eyes Of The World
July 17, 1976
Orpheum Theatre

One of the all-time best versions with several unique passages. Blissful, searching and cohesive. Criminally underrated.
The Other One
July 17, 1976
Orpheum Theatre

The Space jam on this one is genuinely engaging. The band are listening to one another and responding to make a very trippy soundscape that almost sounds like it could be scoring a strange old horror movie. The end destination of Eyes + the eventual reprise just make this one all the more remarkable.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo

Maybe not just exactly perfect, but the tone and mood Keith and Jerry lay down is too sublime to miss.'76 is the peak of their partnership.
