Subject: Jacked up levels

I actually like the Wiley recording better. This one has the levels spiked. Too "in your face" sounding.

jerry was inspired by his buddy brent watch anything from 85 on and it was brent that would light a fire under the fatmans ass brent was peeking and giving jerry his moneyworth every show when he died this show was one that seemed to carry over from the band that was playing best they had arguably everplayed love the promised land jerry did not want to put down the jam but phil was due for a heineken fun night once asked about phiiladelphia mick jagger stated if you want to know whether you are good or not go play philadelphia they boo if you suck and will blow the roof off the joint if your hot

Subject: Nothing like the Spectrum,,,,such a Shakedown town

Honestly always loved Spectrum shows,,,,rarely left unsatisfied - this is no exception.

Great set list with amazing energy and nothing like a high quality audience recording to bring it all home.

Ohhh the halcyon days of my youth!!!!!!!1

Subject: life changing show. literally

most people's lives are a series of small events pushing them imperceptably towards the future. Very few moments can you look back on and say "right there, thats where it happened" For me, I can pinpoint the exact moment when my life changed. it was about 5 1/2 minutes into this Wharf Rat. This was my first show. As most people that night, i was dosed, and they had me from the opening chords of shakedown. however, during that Wharf Rat was when I recognized that the road ahead had just altered drastically for me. I knew I wasnt going to work the next day, and I would find myself back at the Spectrum. The rest was history. in retrospect, this show wasnt half bad either. not the best ever, but had its moments.

Subject: Reminds me of an East Coast Summer

My freshamn year of high school was in the fall of 2008. I was turned on to the Grateful Dead by my best friend, a fellow idealist, who I met the first day of Kindergarten in 1999. That summer, (Summer 2009) we went to stay in New Jersey with a couple of my relatives, and of course, brought all our old bootleg tapes with us, this show happened to be in there. Little did we know that my uncle was a Deadhead, and actually went to this show. I believe that's the reason the Dead appealed to me, a kid from Austin, Texas could like it just as much as a middle-aged guy from the East Coast. This is real music, folks.

Subject: Philly energy is magical. Must-have show!

Where else do you hear twenty thousand people singing every word back to the boys? Excellent show, the Philly energy is obvious even if you weren't there. The crowd is bouncing off the walls and the boys caught the fever... When I want to relive some of the magic, I plug this one in...

Subject: My First Show

This was my first Dead Show. I was in 8th grade and myself and Brett Sein, wnet with Brett's older sister's boyfriend Dave Goldman. Thanks to Dave, Hal, Fern, and the whole TCBY posse that turned me on to the Dead. Clearly, there was no turing back! Man, I miss Spectrum shows, but thanks to all the tapers who put this stuff on archive so us old and in the way heads can relive our magical youth.

very energetic show! they come right out of the gate on fire w/shakedown . the sound is very good for an aud. everyone coming through nice and clear. jerry's singin is right on !weir sounds awesome esp on memphis blues actually the whole band is really kicking it in ... so who's this vince guy ....

i agree about the energy level in the spectrum ,it had ya bounchin' off the walls !!!

Subject: The Very Best

I think this was the very best of what The Boyz had to offer in 1990. The show itself was hummin'and this recording captures it all beautifully. This was the 1st show I ever saw in Philly and probably was the best all around environment at the Spectrum.
Awesome audience recording. A MUST download for 1990 style Dead.

Well...I guess a few. Great show. I'm not sure if it was just me, but the exit/apex of the Foolish Heart jam kicked my body and mind into the stratosphere. As I write this, I am hoping to God I get that feeling back again........soon!

Subject: Great Shakedown & Scarlet

Great show if not just for the energy in the arena that night, a hot Shakedown, and one of my favorite Scarlet's of the 80s/90s. I sat up at the very top of the arena that night, looking down at the insanity below. One of my most memorable shows that I had the fortune to attend.

they had a couple of hot moments but not the best shows of 90.

healy was doing some cool trick with the sound, turning it upside down and stretching it out..

get the 90 expo shows or 90 paris shows if you want some hotties.

This show drips... I thought the entire floor of the spectrum including the seats was a giat red and blakc carpet. Unbelievable shakedown... Danced my legs of and had a blast!!!!!!
