Excellent Show
I am always somewhat entertained and saddened by the people that post critiques of the dead attempting to judge them. All the shows were relatively amazing! Sometimes they struggled a little to get through the set because touring is exhausting but that is the crux of the point. At least I'm enjoyin' the ride!

Mediocre Show, Don't bother
I mean, they were trying, but really the natural spark wasn't there this evening. and that's to be expected...especially from the Dead. It wasn't a lame show so that's good. It's just that there are many nights when the band is united as one mind and screaming to say something. This ain't one of them. SPAC 85 is one of them.

awesome par excellence
This "He's Gone" brings one of my fondest memories ever. I just remember it building up to one of those infamous crescendos driving the crowd into a frenzy!

Average
For me this show is just average all around...sound, setlist, and show. But this watchtower is definitely bad ass. Bobby is possessed and Jerry is a maniac! I'm not really a big fan of this cover...but this one is an exception.

Just when I was getting ready to drone on with 'gosh how the shows became erratic in quality and passes for a 5 in '87 is a 4th derivative of a '78' They bust out with a killer M'Dew.... Scarlet>Fire, Cassidy, alot of other jewels on this... Long Beach? BEST WATCHTOWER EVER? They have played there well before why not...

whoa dang
I was just streaming this show in my office at work and...time to stop working and PAY ATTENTION. This show sounds great, good quality and the band was obviously ON that night. I can't see any reason not to give all the stars possible.

Insanely good! Amazing! Exceptional!
This is by far one of the best concerts that the Grateful Dead played in their latter years...hands down! They seemed infused with electricity...galvanized energy! I would rate this alongside 9.18.87 as the best of this year...It is impossible not to enjoy this concert...impossible not to see this as extraordinarily exceptional!

Long Beach Dead
Ah Long Beach Dead Shows....I use to live across the street from the convention center & could look out from my balcony at the whole scene. It was so nice to just walk across the street & into the show. Not having to driving anywhere & being able to get as High as I wanted without fear.;-p ...This show was sweet, Love that Morning Dew.....So nice to finally get a soundboard copy & not have to work at converting my audience master which was not to shab either.
