Man, what an asshole. The last reviewer is another example of a deadhead who thinks he's just as important as the music and the people who provided it.

Hence the screen name. This Terrapin is OK. I prefer Spectrum '79. Good sound on this recording.

Saw every show at Hampton, which was '79-'89 except '82 when they played the Scope. I don;t count '92 that was after Brent and the Dead were just done
...
by that point sadly.
This was a great year. Great recording as well. Great Dew, one of the best I saw in over 330 shows.
And just so everyone knows, us deadheads who actually went there, never, ever called Hampton the "Mothership".

This is a stunning audience recording. Rob, um, wow man this is remarkable work. And fun! The Dead rarely played clunkers at the Mothership and this

show performance-wise is truly excellent by any era's standard. For mid-80's it's wondrous.
This is ensemble playing at its best. ALL members of the band are in perfect synchrony and from the first couple minutes of Stranger you can already hear magical synergy between band and audience. All of the show is pretty darn fantastic, but special note to the B.E. Women, a killer Let It Grow, the aforementioned Terrapin that is beautifully rendered and Morning Dew. The Dew here has some strange echo effect by Healy on Jerry's vocals during the second verse. This is kinda cool, but takes this out of the running for me for what might otherwise be given top-ten consideration for this tune.
Again, a great, classic show brought to living, breathing life by one of the greatest live audience recordings I've ever heard. Thanks Rob and to Charlie (once again) for recognizing this beauty and making the transfer. Download this now and start yourself on the lovely path of never being a soundboard snob again. Enjoy!

Subject: One of my favorite Dews
The second night of a two show run, generally speaking, was always better back in the early 80's, and more often than not would open with a killer Stranger.Here
...
is an exceelnt example. The rest of the set is played very well with a very strong Let It Grow to end the set.
Set II starts off with the a slower versions of Touch which works better when it was played in the second set. It is alittle rough. The Playing> Terrapin is awesome, with the lady with a fan being outstanding. It is too bad Jerry and Phil left the stage for Don't Need Love. Granted at the time many a DH thought this song was the worst, but it does stand the test of time and is hauntingly beautiful.
The drums feature Mickey on the beam which is awesome.
To hear Morning Dew out of space was a rare treat post 1974 and this one is easlily one of my favorites I saw live.
It features everything you want. The final jam features a poetic Phil and Jerry duet and then explodes at 10:00 with Brent ragin on the B3.Bob plays some great power chords too.
The T-Stones> Saturday is not up to the par with the Dew but is fine.
Jerry ends it strongly with great Baby Blue

This was the sickest Terrapin I ever saw (from 1978-1995; 200+ shows). The crowd just kept errupting during the jam at the of the signing part of the song.
...
By doing that it made the show that much better. And Jerry was really pumped from this and just kept playing louder and louder. One of the most vivid memories of all of the shows I have seen. Morning Dew was incredible too!
