Subject: Early 80's revisited
(Funny thing is,I hadn't even listened to THIS GEM - before I wrote the below..... while remembering those glory days lon
g ago......)
......I believe ... my 1st shows were while Keith and Donna were still 'Playin' in the Band' - (I KNOW they were....) at Nassau Coliseum, on a cold night. 10/31/79 - i recall that first 'experience', A very photogenic, "prior recall" comes clearly to mind as a sophomore, post-Flower Power '70's hippie or the more common LI clickish branded- band of "Freaks", we were called, space your face gig, walking around the coliseum, with many a 'real-time' - red-eyed, goolish masks, along with the Long Island spinning gals in their Gauze Skirts, spinning into infinite....... !!! I guess one doesn't forget those adolescent moments in time where the world as you knew it - was about to change forever..... AND I'M GRATEFUL IT DID, (at some point between Sept. 1977- and the following year or so, to be sure. I remember the recall of "seeing the light" ,but between those early Nassau and/or MSG shows, I can't pin any specific night to be my "first"....... After I took my first 'Journey Into The belly" of one of those Arena's, the following 38 years become a wonderful collage of set lists, tapes, and random Roaming around this Blue Ball, as I too, began my spin into the infinite.
My point....... ???
Good Question !!!
I'm 52 yrs old now, and have transcended the 'Clicks' of Long Island Adolescent pigeon holes. Now, I've been revisiting some of these early 80's shows with often a pleasant smile. I remmeber when "Shakedown Street" began t's beat..... and - , 'OMG- NOT A DISCO BEAT? - FROM THE DEAD ?????
Yeah, we had often cried out, 'DISCO SUCKS- GO DEAD INSTEAD" !!!!!! But now, oh what a treat to be still, 'dancin' in the streets'..... Some of these, MANY OF THESE SHOWS..... are heaven in my 'iPod-isolation', while sitting by the Sound, Simply looking around, from the window of a pane, across the Promised Land (- thnx CB....respectively....), or landing "half - a - mile from Tuscon, by the morning light', one year more, and another to go, my ole' buddies', these shows are just as
randomly sweet,as any "GEMS" we can could know !!!!!
It's NEVER 'The best years'...... Just about 50 years of randomly GLOWING SHOWS !!!!!! garrick III (c) 2016

... of the two offered, and a pretty standard show for the year. Which means real good.

As many quality Senn's as I've heard (thanks Jim)..gotta get the Nak's here. Much fuller sound. And yeah, the shows pretty freakin' great too.
