Set 2: Big Boss Man, Loser, Bird Song, Cryptical Envelopment > Drums > The Other One > Me & My Uncle > The Other One > Cryptical Envelopment > Wharf Rat, Deal, Brokedown Palace, Empty Pages
Notes
--most of the cuts are a result of stopping the reel to save time/batteries, and are therefore very minor in most cases
--dropout @ 1:55 in Bobby McGee
--tape warble @ 6:05 in The Other One(1)
--tape damage(?) @ 6:39-6:50 in 2nd Other One
--tape warble @ 0:08 in 2nd Cryptical
--Sound Forge was used for normalization, correction of the pitch, crossfades, and smoothing over troubled areas.
Comments:
This is a decent mono audience recording of seeming moderate distance from the source of music. The microphone is often bumped or moved, causing some noise. The crowd is relatively quiet.
Deadlists comments:
This show is usually listed on tapes and in Deadbase as 8/24/71. But, according to Dwight Holmes the circulating aud tapes for this show were made by Stephen Wade, who says that he only taped the first show (8/23) and not the second (8/24). Additional evidence from Jeff Tiedrich also indicates that this is 8/23 and not 8/24.

The entire disc 2 of RT 1:3 consists of Aug. 23, so I would normally say ... just get it instead -- and you should regardless. However, it only lines up with this recording starting from the first Cryptical through Wharf Rat. RT 1:3 has China Cat > IKYR, Truckin', and Sugaree preceding that, and Sugar Mag after. The Sugarees seem to be the same, though, so I can only guess the rest of what's on RT 1:3 is simply left out here. Similarly, it would seem a fair amount of what's here was left off of RT 1:3 given that it's only a single disc. In any event, this is not DP 35, as some folks indicate below -- that's Aug. 24. This must have been mislabeled as much some time in the past.
