Real stinker
Man, you'd (thankfully) be hard pressed to find a show this bad during this otherwise amazing period, or during any other for that matter. Move over 8.24.85

this has to be the worst GD show ever, or at least that I've heard. Great looking set list, but don't be fooled, they were really struggling this night. Pass on by ...

sloppy Saint
Did the G-Dead ever play a good Saint of Circumstance after they dropped Lost Sailor? Its the same band that played in three years earlier, but I feel
...
as if they lost it for this one. Everyone sounds lost and confused instead of funky and agressive... sloppiest part of the nite from a normally good show.

Can you FEEL it?
Yep, a little sloppy, but one of those shows where you can feel the atmosphere of the show. Recommended.
Ok hereÃÂÃÂs the story, we went to the shows for the summer solstice, this was the first of the shows in this series & we were ready for fun. The
...
theater was nice with many inside venders & good space. We didnÃÂÃÂt notice the garbage smell which others have complained about Shoreline for. They opened with Foolish Heart & we started getting our clues together. Jack straw was wonderful & for the first time the Dead were using large TV screens for us to view the band. They were relentless in showing you the expressions on the memberÃÂÃÂs faces like I mean the pore cam. They went into Alabama & we were very happy to hear this tune, I think the dead played it 4 times in 89. Cold Rain in the middle of the first set was also great . You could see from the Screens that Brent looked gooey, he looked high, and there were a couple of times we laughed out loud when they zoomed in on him given his total zonked out look. They went into IKO & we all exploded with dance, this was a great jam & then right into Hey Pocky way. Well Brent started singing this & looked like he just couldnÃÂÃÂt pull it together for the words & I remember Jerry looking over at him like whatÃÂÃÂs up & Brent just shrugged oh well, & then they just all jammed, hard, like, if I canÃÂÃÂt remember the words I sure can jam, & they did. They went over the edge with the close of the song. I really love this version, but Brent looked so zonked out, or what ever you want to call it, the screens told all. The second set was very good & we were so happy when they went into Saint, also a hard song to see that year. The rest of the show was typical but I would trade a typical show for no show anytime.

Raw first set
This is one of those charged first sets, sloppy and inspired at the same time. I really dig the Hey Pocky Way>IKO even though the vocals are discarded
...
after the first verse. (Was this technical or player error?) The jam between the two is about as raw as you could ask for from late '80's.
