Great two nights
Wow getting across the border was interesting. Not that we had any problems but I saw several buses pulled off to the side getting thoroughly checked.
...
Not to mention sales of particular items were of scarce commodity because everyone was scared about being in Canada. Anyway we fired up the hibachi and cooked some mussels and sausage as well as enjoyed some Canadian brew. Some fellow near to us struck up a conversation with us and we partied with him and his buds. I said nobody has any blotter if ya know what I mean, he opened his pack and said whatcha mean? they were the plain white squares with no marking on the tabs. I said I just bought a sheet of those blank whites last summer. He said no really, not the case and boy was he correct. we really had a ball there. I crashed in another buddy hotel room on the floor looking up at the textured ceiling as the light came across it seeing blues and greys billowing out of the textures like volcanoes

They were definitely on for both nights. Slept in a friends van with about 5 or more friends in the parking lot. Great time,

stops short just when Jerry was headin into the gimme jam. This was a really hot time, summer 89- summer 90, this one maybe not so much. The hottest show of spring 90 is 3-29-90, even with out Branford, listen to the opener. Peace

Blonde Hippie Chicks in the Front Row!
I was one of the two blonde chicks freaking out in front of Jerry that night. An AMAZING night for all of us, but especially for Jennifer (the other, TALLER

blonde) and me. Our general admission tickets certainly did not justify our amazing luck or maybe it was more than luck? All we knew was this: the two people who had the tickets for those seats never came to them, and instead, we got the THRILL OF OUR LIVES! Jerry serenaded us *personally* during "Standing on the Moon." Wish someone had videotaped that show, because I am SURE our writhing and squirming little bodies would've been all over it!

Good solid show. I had a great time up there. A bunch of us from South Jersey went up there for both nights. We had a helluva time gettin' stuff over

the border but was successful nonetheless. The Half-Step and Victim are both on Without a Net. I remember thinking Bobby was going to play Lost Sailor (I swear I can still hear it in the tuning before Estimated), but to no avail. Scene around the Coliseum was scrappy and expensive but overall it was a great time!
Another great spring 1990 smoker. Good sound quality. If you're poor like me and have a 30 watt shelf stereo with no subwoofer the bass is thin. Now I

Victim Or The Crime
Victim Or The Crime was wild. They used the back speakers for a Quadraphonic effect. It was like they spun the effects at the end around all 4 banks

of speakers. I think 1st loose lucy for me. I recall they had 200 arrests outside. I bought I nice poster for that show at a shop across the street. We stayed in a dive motel in Niagra Falls. All I have to say is that girl getting out of the dude's minivan didn't look like his wife.

for the taking. It must have weighed 200 lbs. I walked around the Copps coliseum complex and ran into Billy Kruetzman standing on the sidewalk by himself. I said 'How are you doing Billy?'and he said with a humorous expression 'I'm just trying to get a cab' He looked very tall from my memory. like 6'3".We where close to the stage both nights but the sound was not the best for some reason. The boards sound better than the show from my memory. The sound quality for this show is a 5 and the playing is a 4. Definate download.

mixing it up
Very solid show, though the 2nd night at Copps is a better overall performance. Lots of novelty in the mixed-up setlists ... very spacey victim>SOTM>promised
...
to close out the first set, then a really unusual fingers>cumberland transition. The recording could be a bit "warmer", but overall it's very clean and sharp. Worth a listen.
Very nice...good SOTM, sweet Far From Me. Brent was crooning.. It is tough to listen to Bobby cut off Jerry before the Queen Jane...you hear Jerry lightly
...
play the sweet opening lick of Must Have Been the Roses about 5 times before Bobby starts w/ the opening rythn of QJ. I like QJ, but it ain't MHBTR.. Oh, yeah...the Crazy Fingers>Cumberland is hot! I'll agree that the sound is a tad thin and "tinny"...but I say that only because by this time I've become completely spoiled by this website. Worthy of any collection!
The Copps shows were both solid. The sound on this one is a bit hollow, though. This Half-Step was used for "Without a Net"

fourth row on the floor like I was the next, this show stands out particularly in my mind for the Queen Jane and Standing, not to mention the freaky distortion they used during Victim. It blew my mind! I also remember listening to the tape my friend Dave made at the time and listening to it in the hotel room after the show. I guess its not so strange that he's now the archivist for the Dead, having taken over for Dick. Lucky man! Another thing that stands out is getting up the next morning after the last show and looking out the window to see all the teenieboppers hanging out behind Copps Coliseum vying for a glimpse of the Backstreet Boys, who happened to be playing that night. Cripes! They had cameras trained on every window in the hope of catching a glimpse of Johnny or somebody or other.....so we gave 'em one when friend Ford hung his bare ass out the window. That'll learn 'em. Its funny, but those pre-adolescent girls were more destructive than the thousands of deadheads who invaded the city the previous three days and they had only just arrived. These shows are well worth downloading!

opener, Hey Pocky Way, is pretty solid and the opening notes are pretty cool (why did they drop these opening notes later that year?). There are many highlights including the Estimated, Cumberland and Wharf Rat but, as I recall, the place was just hoppin' during the wicked throwing stones. It seemed the whole audience clapped in sink with the beat, but in the same active motion (maybe it was just me!). But it created even higher momentum until the closing Lovelight, which also rocked. This particular show does sound good and well worth a download, but if you can find a clean AUD. go for it. Download it anyway. You won't be dissappoiinted.
