I love the SMR's contest!
....however, the 7/9/95 SMR is good but not great! If you were there you would know that. Jerry's guitar fucked up during the last verse as well as his
...
voice. And for the guy who said that SMR's is an average to below average tune..?.. "you need help my friend" the songs lyrics hit home for a lot of folks as well as Jerry himself. Probably the most lyrically truthful song of a Jerry's ballads. Giving us a small insight into his fight with the demons that led him so far away from home and struggling to find & stay on the road leading home. ...ha...a below average tune!?...that makes me laugh. But anywho...check out 10/1/94 SMR's...also from Boston Garden. It has what you need...smiLe oN! Peace.

So Many Roads...yes again
Think everyone might want to check again... best Roads ever was 12-10-1993 w Branford Marsalis I was in the house and Jerry was spot on ( one small mic
...
mishap in the beginning )... though the recordings I have heard all seem to have iffy vocal recording... but the jazzy undertones were simply amazing.

Wish I was a headlight.....
I still remember vividly the energy of "I know You Rider" and the fun the band had this night. Jerry sounded like he really did wish he was a headlight
...
when he sang that verse.... I just remember thinking WOW!!! That stuck with me for some reason and helped me track down this show. btw: I've had a great time tracking down shows I went to from 1973 to 1995 and beyond... Going to see the Dead spring tour. Warren's no Jerry but he still rocks!! I still miss Jerry... Thanks to those who keep the music alive!!!

Great Space Exploration
The drums and space in this show are a great example of the level at which the Band performed these instrumentals during the 1990's. The sound energy

moving back and forth, left to right, through the sound system creating a circular swirling sound through the Garden was sheer pleasure to move my body to. With all the criticism expressed about the 90's shows, I have to say, that being a super avid dance expressionist of the drums/space sequence that the band reached its sophisticated and beautiful peak in this department during the 1990's. Holy, Holy!

Definitely the highlight of the Boston run, there's hardly a clunker in this show. The SBD is sweet (maybe a little light for my taste), the song selection

is top-shelf, and the band is in peak '93 form. Check out the China > Rider for a taste, then grab the whole show (or at least set two).
