Like a supersize high school gym, or maybe worse because of so much open space and concrete floors. This place wasn't built for music shows. Performance was meh. The band didn't go out of their way to make it memorable. It was a great place to socialize. General admission all.
There was tons of open floor space. Except for close to the stage, it was easy to move around.

.we caught Norfolk and then drove our POS VW bus north...brokedown 4 miles from Rochester....stayed athe Cadillac Hotel for the show...scarey dive I slept in the bathtub....got the VW fixed by assholes who way overcharged us....met a new friend who workedm for Hilton so the following night in Niagara we stayed in leisure. ...my shoes were stolen in Rochester but managed to gt into the Niagara show....so transcendent I walked thru a huge patch of broken glass without a care or harm....amazing show. Catching the elevator I met Brent going to the bands suites several floors above us.....crazy times

I didn't know what i was getting into, An Evening With the Grateful Dead is what my ticket read. Before the show we saw the guys parking themselves way up high on the roof? So many great people to help on the way with 2 dots of purple and MDA? Got inside and danced, around and around; met a girl that climbed on my shoulders to see a bit more, and escape the crushing crowd. It was as if people were swaying so far over that without your friends next to you you would simply fall over! And don't move your feet or you would step on your buddies shins. So weird, and wired. By the time I heard take a step back we could lift ones self on the front barrier with the crowd holding you up. The poor girl was taken by security because she was fainting. The entire stage was melting for space/drums. I remember being privileged to see such a fantabulous fine performance. I was bitten by that Dire Wolf and have never been the same person. But you hear that is what it is all about. Change. Always change, every show that I have ever seen there has always been change. I am better for hearing poor Peter ,run and see. Thank-you everyone that was at the show, and a special thanks to Further for continuing the craft. God Loves you all.

I have to admit, I find most Minglewoods to be routine fillers and, quite frankly, a little boring which has always been disappointing because the song has that potential to get deep, dark and dirty. This one smokes!!! Can anyone suggest others that do not "disappoint"?

Really the quality of the recording does need some help...however this is a fantastic energy show. It's so great to be able to listen to these things the band and the crowd are really tuned in on this one have a go at it you won't regret.

My wife and I parked on the Canadian side and walked across the border to the Convention Center, couldn't bare the thought of driving back through customs! This was an intense small show, maybe 6,000 people and the placed rocked, and you had to love the pull out bleachers. This show started Jack-Dire-Minglewood, the same start as my previous show which just added to the confusion!

I was lucky to be one of the first to purchase the initial tour pack for this swing through the East Coast (13 shows - $121!). I was taping back then and other than the great music inside the giant quanset hut, was Healy moving all the tapers behind the sound board, because he was unable to see through the forest of microphone stands in front of him. An afternnon of sun on top of the CC, and an evening of great music indie. This one is a standout among years of shows and a personal fave.

This show rocked from beginning to the end the boys seemed to really love the crowd. Its worth the listen and one of the best shows of 84 Spring East Coast Tour for those of you that were lucky enough to take the trip I think you will agree! It was really cool the way they tied into the house sound and used it throughout the show for echo effect. When I wasn't dancing I sat in the bleachers in the back that Phil rattled all night. Thanks for show ! Also worth a listen is both shows from Norfolk Virginia and the Rochester show from the 84 Spring Tour and I have seen and listened to alot of shows and have to say this show smokes!!!

I'll always remember the way Black Peter echoed and wailed that night through that big old building. Haunting. Thanks, Jerry.

As an 18yr. old, this my 1st show, was an experience to remember. after walking over the rainbow (really is called that) bridge from canada into a sea of tie dye to hearing a band that jam's the seed was planted. only later did i realise the luck of getting a jack, deal, help slip, eyes and black peter all in 1 night!
musically all well done although they bungle the middle/tricky transition part of help (as most times i've heard it) the fun went on all night long. what a time, lots of fond memories...

absolutely chilling Black Peter is the main attraction here. This is one song that arguably improved as Jerry's voice worsened (due to its reflection of his declining health), and this version is a standout. Strong show

This was a very weird place to see a show. It did look like an old airplane hanger and the seats reminded me of High School gym bleachers. The coolest thing was that it was very easy to walk up the sides of the building and do some partying right on top! I have pictures of 30 or 40 people hanginging out up there. The cops moved us off a couple of times and then left us alone. At the time I remember thinking the show itself was un-spectacular, and I have to admit it sounds better listening to it now, 20 years later. Funny, it's usually the other way around. I guess Jeff The mushroom-man's goodies helped to alter things a bit more than I would have liked...(see previouse nights Rochester comments for background on this character)... I remember the weird swirling 'Black Peter' and the crowd stomping on the bleachers in time to 'Not Fade Away'. Best of all was just hanging out at the falls after the show and coming down from all the days festivities and chemicals. Aiko-Aiko!

I recall being right up front for the second set. After the jam at the end of Women are Smarter, Weir started walking offstage to his left like he was done until after drums. Jerry brought him back with riffs for Eyes of the World. Jerry had this big smile on his face.
Being up front for this set was awesome. This place had terrible acoustics, but up front the sound was perfect. The second set before drums is powerful.

WoW the Slipknot from this show is insane! Flashy - I'd love to see those pix 'cause we walked up and were hanging on top of the building too until security shoo-ed us all down... what a show; drums/space is fnatastic... after the show we got back to the car and had been robbed :( but they missed our tour tickets so we did continue on the east coast :) get this one!
