Subject: This whole tour was bizarro world
All of the shows on this tour sucked. I kid you not. My tour head friend (J.gdu )and I have seen them everywhere, and we knew something was deeply significantly
...
OFF on this tour. When the guy said to us at Portland 3/27 that they "were playing in this new weird way" at the Phily shows we were wondering what he meant. It was a much deeper illeness then just a Supplication "Jam!"
Then we proceeded to do the rest of the tour, and if these shows are not the worst nightmare, with the second nite of Providence where the A-hole threw a bottle at Bobby, that was just about it.
This 4/1 show is a Miracle kind of similar to spending your weekend at three Mile Island and drinking the water in the containment chamber.
Hot water transfer, know what that is? Been to 500 shows lately? Its a facilities thing when the facilities staff hate the hippies and the cold water shuts off in the bathroom. Try it next tour and see what I mean, along with the muzak.....run and see.
To get a sense of what these shows are like especially as they rolled along notice the third night every place on this horrible "tour"continuous space into Miracle every place they went
Then think nuclear meltdown and Reference Hershey 6/27/85 and Chernobyl I mean Cal Expo 86) and Harrisburg 1983 Miracle-Dew for a sense of what we are smoking here. This show is yucky, Individual songs may seem ok, but overall this is a total nightmare of a tour.
I would pay $1000 to see it again, literally.
Don't believe me? Then go listen to 4/4/86 Harford set 2 and tell me it is "normal." If it is I challenge you to a Cream Puff war at a show of your choice on the October 2015 tour. See u in Rochester..... and beware by October I will have Pumpkin flavored cream puffs.

My dad was 56 at the time and this was his first show..sitting upper balcony on Jerrys side. He sort of didnt know how to react to all the deadheads outside
...
the show and all the dancers. Overall the show was hot for some of the versions of songs Estimated>Eyes is pretty good..but definately on the downward turn before Jerrys coma. Better shows in 87'.

Subject: huge show
This show was heavy. Crowd anticipation was high, as the night before had been high energy and then everything fell apart at the end with the bottle incident,
...
and no encore.
Band responded with high energy 1st set, including stunning Music Never Stopped, then weighed in on things with a Monster Shakedown, one of my all time favorites. Beautiful sound, high energy, cathartic for the fans + band.
Great time, great tour. Thanks again GD!

Subject: MY SECOND SHOW
been wanting this show on disc for years-finally now i have it. the two out of three shows in providence i saw made me an avid follower. i have never heard
...
a better looks like rain than this one - bobby's delay and sampling on his vocals is insane and makes this version in my opinion the best i have heard. there is so much going on from midpoint to the end you just have to tune into what he he is doing in this version. i went on to see and hear many other looks like rains but none compare to this shows.

I almost didn't make this one 'cause I was short cash and didn't have tix. I hear ya, Sugar Mag - got 'em when I got there (and it was easy too - remember
...
when...) and I paid exactly $7.50.
This and the first night were both really excellent.

Subject: AWESOME!!!!
Subject: AWESOME!!!!
This April Fool's Show was TIGHT!! We arrived without tickets. The moment we stepped out of the car, we heard someone shouting they had front rowers.
...
Well, we thought it was BS. Turned out, the guy had exactly the number of tix we needed (three). Then of course we thought they were fake but decided to purchase anyway. Long story short: we were right of center between Bobby and Jerry!! More on the Bobby side. I was tripping face and remember just standing there and just staring at them! It was like my second or third show. I will NEVER forget it.
Sugar Magnolia, Shakedown, Rooster, Box of Rain, and yes, Phil was almost never heard at a show, and that made it doubly special. Give this a listen. I was not disappointed what-so-ever.
Bobby doing his bended knee thing and strumming in Sugar Magnolia had me coming in my pants.

I was at this three day stand while attending school in Providence and enjoyed each of them immensely. Being from California these were my first East Coast
...
shows and they didn't disappoint. Lots of energy for the band to feed off of and the perfect size venue.
Big Railroad Blues and Music Never Stopped are big highlights with thundering base lines from Phil and Jerry extending the leads at every chance. A Great Download.

I do agree this is a nice little gem and I saw in this stretch of the early to mid 80's a bunch of shows in Providence Worcester etc. Some of them were
...
epic... This has some really nice points to it Phil is on fire and back then he never sang so that was special and a gimme some lovin opener is a signal tonights going to be diff however miracle into black peter was a let down there are so many whoppers they could have done and while sugar mag is superior the back end of set II is sort of a let down compared to what it could have been. Moreover, it evoked alot of the frustration from shows at the time where Jerry was baked and they never quite made it musically to where they could have been some nights. You should listen to this and dont get me wrong I liked this alot however cannot in good conscience give this a 5 when there are hundreds of better shows here.

...
of the best high energy shows I ever atended!
