Edinburgh Playhouse
It's Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre (not Theater!).
Jerry was interviewed on Radio Forth before the show - about 6pm I guess, as we were on the M90 driving down from Perth. He was very entertaining. The DJ commented the Dead were famous for long shows, how long would they be playing tonight? He replied with something like "Oh, we'll warm up for a couple of hours, have a break and then a few more hours".
The comment about decanting to the bars is right, but I recall there was a live video feed so you didn't miss anything.
The guy two seats along had a full taping rig, including mic stand. That kind of thing was unheard of in the UK - and still largely is. He obviously knew the Playhouse - he'd brought along a mains extension lead and plugged into a floor socket used by the cleaners.
Great memories of a great night.

Amusing story
I was at this show.At the interval we went to the very crowded bar.A large group of american sailors were there. One shouted out "imagine seeing the Dead in a place like edinboro".Quick as a flash a loud scottish male voice shouted back "Ah'll have you know we had Sheena Easton here last week!"
A good show though that long drum solo prompted all those not under the influence of illegal drugs to return to the bar.
Thanks for posting the show.

Eyes is missing.....
Otherwise a decent board from the '81 European Tour. Little rusty for the 1st set, but that's to be expected for a tour opener. Especially like the Let it Grow, Other One and Estimated. Unfortunately the subsequent Eyes is missing. Darn!

the haggis was flying this night !!!
For those who are scottish you know what i mean, this is a killer sounding board of a solid show, decent set list, very well played, a nice addition to any collection. Plus imagine this being played among the pubs and bagpipers, holy christ, Scotland hasn't been the same since!!! A 4 star rating , should be a 5 but its missing the encore, all in all def. worth the DL.
