a young woman in the parking lot who had recently given birth and as I looked at her newborn she asked me " do you think he's okay? ". He was a beautiful baby boy, perfect in every way. She seemed relieved to see my response. Anyway, I will never forget that night. I remember Ship of Fools too , I danced through that little walk way between the seats right in front of the stage. Just up the path, and back. Now I'm going to listen to it for the first time since that night.

lawn. I believe it was of the Dead in the rain forests of S. America doing their charity work, as well as some cool psychadelic graphics on the screens. This was a rocking show with a sweet help,slip,frank opener. I was lucky to attend this show and only wished I could have been to more than the ten shows I was at that year. I was too young to really appreciate the Dead then and took their presence for granted. Man do I miss the release Dead shows gave me. There will never be another jam band group as such. I believe they are the fathers of jam bands with Jerry as Mozart on guitar.

usually one of my favorite first set tunes but it is just mangled here. The second set isn't bad at all. Vocals are fairly tight throughout and although the overall performances aren't the most inspired versions you have ever heard they are solid and maintain that '91 vibe. Nice He's Gone, you have got to love Hornsby on that song, with a good jam following. Drums and space are above average for anyone else who actually listens to them sometimes. More very sweet work by Hornsby in space and he makes his typically beautiful contributions to the Dark Star tease. SMOKING Dew on which Hornsby sparkles and glows. More of the same on Saturday Night, just with harder pounding on the keys. I guess if you like Hornsby you will love the second set. I know Baby Blue isn't everyone's favorite encore, but I have always enjoyed it and this is indeed a strong rendition. Overall a worthy show, but you might want to just skip the first set unfortunately.

Baby Blue encore - my fav version of all time. Bobby growls out some great vocals in Smokestack and Jerry backs it up with some stylish and driving solos and fills. The jams into and out of He's gone and the entire drums/space sequence morph into some really killer soundscapes. Morning Dew is unbelievable - the key is Jerry's wonderfully powerful solo and forcefully crisp vocals. He forgets to sing the line to the finale - probably interupted by Bobby's segueway into Saturday Night - given this it's still my favorite version of all time next to 4/29/1971. Baby Blue has amazing vocals and guitar by Jerry - awesome to have such a clear soundboard of this - some flubs to lyrics keep it from being the outright best of all time.

Best AM Dew of the 90's??
In my opinion, this show is good, not great. Listen to the next night, that is a GREAT show. The First set's highlight is The H>S>F, and then, IMHO,

it's pretty much downhill from there until the AM Dew. The Dark Star Jam is a joke, it's like 2 minutes long, and it goes pretty much nowhere. The BE Women is sloppy and virtually falls apart at points. The jam in Music Never Stopped is very short, and leaves me wanting more when they pull it back from the jam. I think a Women 2nd set opener is kinda weak, although I do understand the band wanting to do the Expo and Shoreline runs without any repeats between all 6 shows (that's pretty cool). Smokestack is started by Weir so slowly that it leaves very little room for the typical high energy this song brought out in the band. For all the reviewers that feel that the AM Dew is the best of the 90's, just off the top of my head I can think of 2 AM Dews from the 90's that I feel are better(not that I don't think this one is good), 7-18-90, and 3-27-94. Having listened to the totality of 1991 performances, I would actually be inclined to rate this show a 3. I am sure I will recieve some flack for that as the remainder of reviews are 4 and 5 stars, but I am willing to bear that as I feel that is an accurate rating.
