as a Deadhead? This was as close to a fucking ACID TEST as it gets. Everyone was tripping. It was Halloween. 4 shows (at all of them), thousands of 'heads' in from Buffalo, Boston, NYC. It was a party. And your smug know it all mentalities, don't know shit about it. Unless of course, you experienced it. Not on some cassette tape. But in the flesh. I'm so looking forward to listening to this again next Wednesday. I do every anniversary. Oh, before I go, put this in your glass kiddies. I SAW FUCKING PIGPEN. lmmfao.

energy is just not there. Given the scarcity of SBDs from this period I strongly recommend trying the auds and applying some EQ. For example, 10/24 is a fantastic show and if you tweak it it's quite listenable.

Set one was my first Dead Show/Psychedelic experience and now is the date ingrained in my memory as the day I became a Deadhead. Several dozen live shows

and a few hundred tapes, cds and LPs later, it is still the show where I peaked for Uncle John, wondered how the bearded guy could play for both the Dead and the NRPS, and wished I had gotten ($2) tickets for all four shows in the run. I know that my dorm room served as a crash pad for several out of towners who came staggering in after the second set at around 3 in the morning. My only disappointment in the SBD here is that it runs out in the middle of a smokin' "Rider". (Can I give more than 5 stars to offset the ridiculous 3s?)

to first disc quality that never happens. The show itself is typically great but the sound lacks bigtime. 4 for show, 2 for sound

vintage. They never seemed to be able to get out of it gracefully. Show catches fire with Good Lovin'/Drums, with a nice Cumberland for good measure. Late show is OK, but they just sound weary. Sound quality is spotty, but pretty good overall. I'm keeping the early show, and cherry-picking the late one. Suit yourself. Early 4 stars, Late 3 stars.
Considering it's SBD originated the sound is arguably a bit lacking, but altold a good show, pretty tight, worth the download (as most are; how many here

are simply not worth it at all?). The 3 stars is relative, it's a good show.
