Notes
Patch Info:
There was some other show bleeding through the tape for first few songs,
so I used the circulating etree sbd to patch Me And My Uncle through Bird Song.
Other Patches:
Recording by Olaf Schiappacasse (using Gene Taback's equipment):
Sony Stereo Mic -> Cassette Master (Sony TC-124) supplies:
Bertha (complete track)
Cumberland Blues (0:00 - 1:34)
The Other One (5:59 - 8:14)
Uncle John's Band (complete track)
Notes:
-- All disc changes are seamless
-- The levels are a mess causing hiss in places, I did my best..
-- Sound quality improves for the 2nd Set
-- Patches are not perfect, but are better
-- Thanks to David Minches for the AUD patch source

Grateful
Great other one with some more upbeat jamming towards the end that one wouldn't typically associate with the song. The stella blue that follows also finishes
...
very strong. Really good sound quality as well, very grateful to be able to hear this one.

Truckin'->The Other One (epic, scary and exceptional)
The "Truckin'->Other One" is EPIC. Not to be missed. "Bird Song", "PITB", "Sugaree" are great. "El Paso", "Sugar Mag" and "One More Saturday Night"
...
worth hearing. "Stella Blue" is still in its infancy. But the thing you CANNOT miss is the "Truckin'" and "Other One". Deep, deep, deep. You're going to hear the Dead playing at the peak of their powers. The word that comes to mind is: unbelievable. And yet, we have the irrefutable evidence, right here! So....hearing is believing! It really happened, on August 20, 1970, at the San Jose Civic Auditorium. My mind was blown, and I've been listening to every show, in chronological order, starting at the beginning.

One More Saturday Night
This recording at times somewhat uneven but when it clicks the sound is very good. There is much Phil in the mix and the vocals are really high so the
...
harmonies are intense. The jam in P.I.T.B is cooking. There is a pretty jam before the lily field verse of the Other One

Great show but Billy's snare is obnoxious
Great show but Billy's snare drum is so high in the mix that it gives me a headache. Obviously the fault of the sound man and not Mr. Miller. It gets
...
better towards the end of the set. Love the jamming towards the end of TOO.

Map Legend
This is a really good recording. The patches listed in the notes are the rough spots. The transferrer has already identified them, so just avoid these
...
areas for your downloads and the rest is golden, pure soundboard.

Nice show
This is an improvement over the other posted show for this date. Except where noted by Charlie Miller in his notes, the recording is very good and worth
...
a listen.
