Subject: Just Plain Jim (dead since 68 or was it 67)
Listen to the Miller et al SB. Jerry's jamming so good everyone is Dead! China cat/Rider/Playin---Drums/Space---Hamza El Din, audience reaction very Trance,
...
every one dosed. Take a time trip turn this up & be there you will love it! God I miss Jerry & the Boys My 1st show 1968 Golden Gate Park at the Museum of Fine Arts on the flatbed, yeah I remember a lot of the 60's, cause I was there & dosed. I'm 74 now & will never let go of our Dreams those days. Tibetan Book of the Dead by way of Music. Hamza rest in Peace, play with Jer for the Angels.

Subject: Relative apogee
The era where the band members started testing the new ear monitors, and quickly learned to mix-out bandmates. The fact that one review rates the ... date based on Candace's light show and by intermission is all the info you need. That said, this is the best show of the run. It is mainly noted for the 1st Corinna and 1st Way to Go...if notable's the right word. They played them again the next night. There was no Hornsby at this run and he played just one more tour as a member. The mix was weird and echo-y at these shows, with little Jer, both SBD and front-of-house.
First Set. Hellina starts things tight as hell and the show slowly deteriorates from there. There is an unusual amount of echo on Jer for Peggy-O. Walkin' Blues is tight but rote. The rest of the set is average '92. Way to Go Home is the 1st one ever. It's like King-Goffin blue eyed blues, by Bralove and Welnick. It wouldn't have been bad if it had been developed to be a bit punchier and if the chorus had more of a hook instead of a monotone. At the time people assumed it was a cover. You can see that it had been woodshedded in the previous weeks, but it still wasn't ready. The '94s are generally better. Black Throated Wind is scattered, like a band practice. The 1st-ever Corrina starts as if nobody remembers it or else really wants to play it. This came from a Hart drum pattern, with Weir adding a song he was working on, à la Greatest Story and Samson, but when it got to the stage the trademark Hart multi-rhythmic syncopation was somehow missing and the chorus was another monotone. After minutes of near-vamping, the ending is where Jer gets to paint something. On the next night, the four new songs are most of the 2nd set!
Second Set. China Cat is one of the weird '92 lite rock versions. I Know You Rider is well-played, albeit the drummers seem a little disinterested. The jam section of Playing is nice - the best since the show opener. But it has a weird sound/tone overall. It's a 17min Terrapin. Jer loses his place a few times, and Bobby is turned way up/Jer down. "Inspiration" has no dramatic effect and it's sort of just creaky, much-improving for the end jam. Baba Olatunji sits in for Drums, with a jungle theme, some great/some monotonous. Drums>Space is half an hour, making the set longer than usual, with a full-stop between the two. The latter is decent but the set flags afterward, especially on a cringe-worthy Throwing Stones. It's weirdly thin, with Jer low and Bobby hiccuping, squeaking and growling. A Vegas lounge version. Not Fade Away is the third peak and has Jer's best work of the run, followed by a shaky encore.
1st Set: C
2nd Set: C-
Overall = 2 stars
Highlights:
Not Fade Away - best playing of the run
SOURCES, The schoeps_gardner_9982 is best for the AUD-only 1st set. The Darby_119790 is pitched fast. The gastwirt_miller_sirmick AUD is FOB but it's muffled and distorted compared to the gardner. There's a miller_96396 for the 2nd set but it's distorted and you can only hear the Phil rumbles on the gardner.

Subject: Passing into the beyond...
...one too many shrooms into ---> Corinna at the end of 1rst set , and went passing into the beyond . The most real near death experience I've ever
...
had , but strangely enough while i was passing "into the light " ....the thought came to me that if i was to die here & now , and my last sight & sounds were the audience & the band, with the refrains of Corrina in my ears ...thought this was not a bad way to go .
Not a bad way to go.... into the light .
There was a nice tie dyed couple I had invited earlier to squeeze into the bleachers beside us . You could meet some wonderful people at the shows...conciousness returned with my head in this beautiful girl's lap, as she and her friend both turned out to be Doctors in residence from Portland ...I was in good hands .;-)
