First time I recall hearing Bobby use the "sex change" lyric in Truckin'. Know I've heard it in '82 or '83 shows.

This show is a nice find. I just listed from start to finish. I heard every drop of sound available here. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The setlist is a greatest
...
hits style list- alabama greatest and china rider in first set!- Shakedown and estimated>eyes in set two is a jamfest and the vocals are soo clear. To top it off a Casey Jones encore is prefeaced by Bob : "we heard there was a train wreck around here and the engineer died...so here ya go ...interesting intro on the encore....I love eighties dead. Especially this early 80's stuff. Any show that features casey Jones in the 80's is rare. Infact, any show with Casey Jones after 1974 is noteworthy and rare. You may be surprised to know that they played it just 4 times in '77, 3 in the October run, and once on NYE, having shelved it for 3 years (18 months given the hiatus). It was played in '78 but not until a year later for the november run and then NYE again. In '79 it was played 7 times but zero times from Feb to November- so it was not a normal occurence. In '80 it was 7 times but 4 times in October and 1 in August and a couple at years end. This was the 3rd Casey Jones of the year in '81 and would be played 4 more times mostly at years end. Then just 2 times n '82 none in '83, then 2 times in '84 then not until '92 where it was done 3 times, then just once in '93 and that was it for this tune. So after this show Casey Jones was played live just 12 more times, whith an 8 year lay away coming after '84. China rider is notable because it was not in regular rotation from end of '74-'79, making a cameo on 12/29/77. By Feb of '79 it was back. Having been played 69 times in '72, 49 in '73 and an alarmingly low 21 times in '74- they played it 24 times in '81. When it made its return in '79 it was done 19 times, but the early eighties saturated dead set lists with the China rider. This show is in the thick of its rebirth and it is well practiced and rehearsed. In '79 Jerry flubs the lyrics to chincat a lot, and Bob sings the 'march winds gonna blow' verse twice or out of order in many of the '79 shows. (see 8-12-79- great show but blown China rider). This show is spot on in every respect. It blends old school dead like the china cat and the casey jones with the newer shakedowns and eighties versions of good lovin and a classic 'estimated eyes'. Nice high quality board here with basically no audience patches, the first 5 seconds of jack straw is audience and some spotted split seconds between songs where the crowd is heard but 99% sbd and a very solid show.

The second set is a standout, with especially creative solo improv work from Brent (who's up nice in the mix) and Jerry, among others. Thanks to the Professor
