The jam from drums into Lost Sailor is interesting and unique. A song that almost always starts from a dead stop, the way they find their way there is
...
really quite nice.

I was in college in the northeast in 1980. Two of my friends and I decided to go tour the west for a few weeks and hit some shows along the way. This tour
...
also included the ”Big 15th Anniversary Show” in Boulder Co. After driving straight from NYC we see a few tall building in the middle of nowhere. It was Des Moines. Head over to the civic center. It was a warm day and dead heads were in the fountains out front.
We get inside and this was by far one of the smallest venues I’ve ever seen them perform at. After seeing the 3 blazing shows at the Nassau plus the show in Hartford Ct, we were sure this was going to be something special. Perhaps our exceptions were too high. This show was a bit of a let down. The show was fairly typical for this time period with a few highlights including a hot Let it Grow, Eye of the World and Comes a Time.
3 stars for an average show

...which makes one wonder why I would want to download it. One has to remember, however, that it was not *that* long ago that having a 2nd gen tape of

a great show was at least half a serving of Manna from Heaven...
The placement of the mics is great, the crowd noise is apropriate, and the show has a great setlist and performance. But there is enough warble in it that it sounds the source is either 2nd gen or overplayed first gen that sat on the dashboard all summer.
Nevertheless, for those of us who are old ehough, and you younguns who are open-minded enough, this is a great show to have.
5 stars for performance.
5 stars for basic recording
2 stars for the condition of the tape.
12 stars divided by 3 veriables equals 4 stars for this one.
It would be 5 stars otherwise but for the above-mentioned flaws.
