Uncle Jon's Band
I was gifted a bunch of early Dead albums in 1984 by my Uncle Jon at just the right age, 17 - I'd been smoking Sweet Mary Jane and dropping acid for a

year thanks to my best mate! This was the only UK Dead tour that happened after this gift, miracle as it happened to be - so me, my best mate and his bird went down to dirty old London Town to see the Dead at Wemberley. Sitting left of stage, but great view, the moment the band came on stage that familiar sweet aroma filled the arena and we were offered a few tokes from our Deadhead neighbours to help us on our way. The greatest gift to us on that night was Terrapin / Space / Wheel, we'd been playin' and lovin' these tunes almost to death. The quality in this recording mirrors my memory of this evening, the only time I saw Jerry and the band in person. This comes a week after Bob Hunter passed, so emotions are high, but this must rank as one of the highlights of my life. I'm honoured as an Englishman to say I've seen the Dead, and what a show! Thank you, Uncle Jon xxx

This show is ridiculous. So good it should be banned in Britain. No, don't wanna go there. Anyway, this is a great recording of a great performance.

I was there
I was at 4 Shows that tour- 10-30 & 31 London and 10-27 & 28 Paris- It never ceases to amaze me how different the shows are from the "tape" and
...
being there- I distinctly remember the Halloween show (10-31) being EXPLOSIVE and this show being awful as the sound mix was never right the entire show- In fact- the reason the piano lead in to Valley road is interesting is because Bruce Hornsby didn't want the Band to exit after such an awful first set- almost like they couldn't wait to get off the stage- whereas Bruce wasn't about to let it end on without at least one good song ! While playing with the Audience on the classical lead in- the stage went dark with Jerry and Bobby looking at Bruce with a "what are you doing look on their face" - the 2nd set not much better! I left hoping for what came true the next night- - yet this Board is awesome- well balanced and well played- and the Lovelight at the end smokes- "Just goes to show - you never know ....." !!!

Brings It All Back
This was my first and only time i ever got to see the dead live. After a 7 hour bus journey and the maze of london's tube system , we arrived at wembley.
...
Unfortunatley our seats were right at the back left so first interval we got into the main arena and everything changed !! Maybe it was the acid i had scored?! or the mushrooms that i'd taken before the acid but during " Looks Like Rain " , believe me it was raining !!! This was the greatest concert i have ever attended . I saw the Dead , saw God and smiled all the way home..
