Sorry I missed this one. I saw all three nights at Red Rocks and two afternoon/evening shows in Santa Fe. Then got stuck hitchhiking on I-25 near a town

called Caballo New Mexico; very pretty place until it rained. Slept one night in the visitors dugout of a small baseball diamond in the middle of chile fields and woke to the sound of disgruntled coyotes who apparently did their nightly hunting in the very dugout in which I slept. I could hear the mice moving around under me.
Missed hal the show at Oklahoma City (Jerry's 40th birthday) the year before. Left right after the last Red Rocks show via thumb but it is a long way across Kansas.
Really great to finally get to hear this one.

their mundane red state existence. This show is incredible. I have really been getting into the 1983 groove lately. Great fall tour.

This as one reviewer has said is one for the ages. The noodling intro into Scarlet and the intense jam into Fire is beyond words.
The sound is in the ... sweet spot and the levels are high! I'm sure there was some imbibing along the way. Thanks Jerry et. al.

I attended this show.
Great night, fun show. Huge field outside Austin with plenty of tickets and room to move around.
I was in college at the time, so ... the next days classes never had a chance.
$7 or something, bought at the gate 1/2 before show.
Only bummer was when I was moving up to the stage between sets, I stepped on some guys wife. I guess she was ok, but it freaked me out for years.

One can only expect the halftime festivities for Garcia and company as they come blazing out of the intermission with a inspirational scarlet>fire.

The bridge jam in Scarlet is hot with the entire band extending themselves a few extra stanzas. While the transition to Fire is sloppy Garcia wales on the mountain!! The first jam is over five minutes long and is full of creativity and power. Great low lend Lesh action as he bounces his base all over Manor Downs. Just think, George Bush was probably drinking Jack and snorting coke on his ranch at Crawford during this show. Boy did he miss out!!

this is one of the absolute best Brent-era versions of this combo, rivaling the likes of 11/1/79 & 2/27/81....it's just that good!
I won't lie, though, ... the recording leaves a lot to be desired (a little inferior to other '83 AUDs), but the seond set is WELL worth the download.
