End of an Era
Irvine Meadows was a great venue to see the Boys play especially when they started playing multiple shows & they let you camp in the parking lot for the whole weekend run.
Sadly the in the darkies kinda ruined it by fence crashing.

My 56th Show
This Saturday show was definitely the strongest of the run. My six the show of the year, and definitely the tightest so far, with the most sustained energy. Great show openers, always love to hear Brown Eyed Women, and whenever they pull out those little ditties between songs, in this case for Finiculi Finicula, you know the boys are in a good mood. Blow Away was a great surprise from Brent. He could really connect with the crowd on that. I thought He’s Gone> Spoonful was really excellent - sometimes it sags, but not here. The Other One seems to never disappoint of late, and this one is no exception. Bookend that with Wharf Rat, one of my favorite Dead songs, and this show is a keeper.

Blow Away
take a special listen to the Blow Away here, one of the best with a nice extended rap by Brent. Great show from the last run the Grateful Dead ever did at Irvine Meadows.

4-29-89
A typical excellent '89 show with great sound quality. Thanks Charlie. I've been listening to Grateful Dead shows on this day in history a lot lately. My Grandpappy E W Birchfield was born on this date in 1889. He was a coal miner who drank whiskey by the quart and lived to be 92. If anybody reads this today have a drink to him. Peace and love to all my fellow Deadheads.

Wow does this sound nice
I was there, and for some of us this was the show that started a lifelong love affair with the Grateful dead. The amount of energy here is just staggering.

ANOTHER EXCELLENT CHARLIE MILLER RECORDING
Once again, I was there and the Charlie Miller soundboard sounds better than I remember the show sounded at the time.
