radio shouts out to the other stations in Wisconsin and Oregon. I think Jerry is so hot on Looks Like Rain among the others, my favorites from this show are Might as Well, Scarlet Begonias, Terrapin, The Wheel, and Throwing Stones. But the Looks Like Rain is HOT - some of the guitar parts at the end actually sound like rain!

I ... rarely favor and AUD over SBD or FM, but this one gives you what the crowd at the show heard which was a way cleaner mix than is coming through to the FM mics.
Great '84 show, def. in the top 5 for the year IMO.

Trust me, you want the AUD version of this show. The quality IS better, and there are no annoying station IDs or DJ banter.
It used to be up here for ... download but was pulled after I speculated that the mikes used were possibly the same ones that provided the FM feed. I'm not sure if there's a connection, but if there is, what's up with that? It was strictly a guess without any proof (turns out I was wrong), so why pull a perfectly legit AUD from being downloaded or even streamed?

Scarlet alone is without a doubt one of the best i've ever heard- ... such mastery and control of the guitar its amazing- i'd give this five stars any day.

Back in 84, I didn't have any good taper connections and the few bootlegs I had all sounded like crap. I received this show in the Fall of 84 and it was

the 1st tape I had that actually sounded good (FM broadcast). This show introduced me to songs I had never heard before, namely, Bucket, TLEO, BIODTL, Good Times B's, The Wheel, and Throwing Stones.
This show has my favorite versions of TLEO, Birdsong, and LLR. I think the whole 1st set is killer, even though the Duprees is kinda choppy. The Scarlet > Fire was good, Samson > Terrapin was good, and The Wheel is great.
I downloaded this show 2 weeks ago and have listened to it non-stop. It transports me to State College PA circa 1984 every time I hear it.
This show is totally worth your download time.

A bunch of my bay area Deadhead buds got together the night of this show at my house, filled the ice chest with imports, fired up the bbq and ran at least

6 tape decks. It was a seriously fun night made all the better with an above average Dead show. LL Rain, Scarlet->Fire and the cool encores are just some of the highlights. Kesey was the MC at this show and did some pre-show commentary for the broadcast .
When the night was over, we were all primed for the upcoming Greek shows
This is one of the better sounding fm broadcasts and download worthy.
