The AUD version of this show from DATBRAD is where it's at. Nothing at all against this fine board from Mr. Miller, Charlie does excellent work and it is always appreciated.
For this Atl '93 run in particular, however, I have to say I am partial to these spectacular AUDs from D-Brad. Probably due to a kind taper I met at Riverport in STL in either '94 or '95 who sent me 1st gens from the D-AUD that he personally recorded at the Omni. I may never know but I think it could have been Dat Brad. These AUDs sound exactly like what he sent me. I wore those Maxell XLII's out for years and will forever be appreciative. So nice to hear these sweet AUDs make it up to Archive.
On a side note I also have to agree w/ Feed That Jones...F that flower chick that hit us with the bunk liquid. She was sugar mags in the the lot but in reality she was the devil in disguise. Not cool, sister. Loose with the truth, maybe it's your fire...baby I hope you don't get burned. "Thank goodness it didn't take until after Help>Slip>Frank." Juggernaut version.
The rest of this fine show was unfortunately miserable for us thanks to Sister Bunk. We missed a tasty Althea. We were so twisted that we "peaked" during Wave to the Wind...you have to be seriously bent to enjoy that tune and at the moment we thought it was heaven on earth. We were hugging each other like they were busting out Dark Star in '89. Screaming what we thought were the lyrics at the top of our lungs. I thought one tweaker was going to melt right in front of us when I zapped him with would become known as the famous Cheesy Answers electricity. Gonna wave to the curious people looking on from the side of the road, as I'm rolling on by. Singing say can you see, by the dawn's early light streaming in?
I Fought the Liquid, and the Liquid Won.
They stripped my comment from 10/11, so I will say it again...
Slipnot Shreds
How about the Stranger tease right in the middle of The Knot? And Vince's signature theme...the boyz really cooked up the ultra-hot Help>Slip>Frank's in '93. Jerry building the solo and then....DAMN. CRUSHES IT. Vince on the outro with some hot playing and then letting loose right into Frank's.

This was the best show of this stand. I was doing contract programming on the "South Coast" and had flown in from Costa Mesa with a friend from Dana Point for the 21st and 22nd shows. There was something different about these shows.
Jerry's leads had an authority I had not heard since the early 80's. No mistakes. His voice was in prime form, and there was none of the annoying mixing of verses and missed words like in '92. Everyone was bang on - it was almost like seeing a studio album being performed live.
The Atlanta shows had kind of gotten into a rut, with a lot of the same songs being played. This show was different. They played songs I had rarely seen played since the early days, and ended with a GREAT cover (not on this recording). Also some GREAT new tunes!
As usual, the Atlanta crowd was excited almost out of control, and the performance was rock solid for all three shows.
Of the nearly 200 shows I got to see since '67, this one is fresh and crisp in my memory, mainly for the beautiful, perfect leads by Jerry and Phil's amazing bass. The keyboards, that I had lost faith in since Brent died, exceeded my expectations by miles. Vinnie had found his spot. Bobby was in rare form too, and his words were so clear, so much more than usual. Finally, the drums were just awesome this show - especially to watch. Wish I had a vid!
IMHO, this was just a great show.
My only question is: Why are the recording levels so low on this mix? I can fix this with the volume knob, but...
The DATBRAD AUD recording is one of the best I have EVER heard - awesome work!
For sentiment, and the real reasons stated above, I gotta give this show a 5. If you don't agree, guess you just had to be there. Listen to the audience on the AUD recordings and you'll see what I mean...

Was so lookin forward to this show, drove all the way from vancouver bc for this run with my friend stephen "the preacher" lewis, ladies man, hooked up with some flower chick in the lots who promised us a sweet liquid hook up. long story short, we drop, we wait, we get antsy, biodtl starts up and we start to feel sick, vomit our brains out in the bathroom at the omni for the next two hours, miss the whole damn show, f you flower chick and f you shady liquid man, not heady bro, not at all.

This indeed is the first BIODTL of 93. The Pre-drums China Doll is a rarity.
Slipknot>Franklins is insane!! Jerry sounds awesome!!

This one gets off to a promising start with a nice Help > Slip > Frank (great highlights to the jams) but they pretty much mail in the rest of the first set. Althea is particularly bad; they sound like they're asleep. One highlight is what I think is the first BIODTL of 1993. Second set starts off with more of the same (a dull Wave to the Wind) but gets better with a crowd pleasing Aiko and a change-up in China Doll. Good stuff after Space, especially Stella Blue. I'd say this is the weakest of the 3 shows from this Atlanta run.
