I am listening to every 1994 show in order, mining for gold.
Distant AUD recording. Sounds like a good show, but hard to tell. I liked Estimated and Black Peter>Thowing Stones>NFA. Short I Fought the Law to close it out.

Subject: 14 IN A ROW
When I left Northern Virginia I had tix to every show except the last 3 shows in Miami. I picked up my brother @ BWI airport & headed for South Jersey & picked up some N2O tanks & we headed for Richfield. This show, of course, was the first show of my 14 show run. My girl was pregnant with my one & only daughter, Melian & I figured I was about to have a lot of responsibilities so I wanted to have a really good last hurrah before she was born. I had done a few short tours before but never that many in a row. Even my bro can't claim that many in a row cuz he was accused of having a counterfeit ticket @ the 3rd show in NY & they wouldn't let him in.

looking back at the set lists for both nights, i don't remember these shows at all. i wasn't fucked up, the just don't stand out. i went to every show at The Coliseum and these just don't register.
sound quality on this sucks ass too. terrible.

...and I am listening to the Crazy -> Estimated RIGHT NOW. The entire how was incredible. The band, the crowd, the music. It sounds as good as it did twenty years ago. Thanks for sharing this.

I was at this show. The parking lot scene was to be remembered. Undercover agents on top of the Coliseum. Grill cheese and a wonderful Shakedown street. This was the first Grateful Dead show that I actually had a ticket for even though at the time I knew very little of the songs that were played. It is very nice to be able to hear shows from the past with such clear and pristine quality. I have heard this show before and must say it still sticks out even after hearing hours of other years. Thumbs up!!

Too the person or people who say that the grateful dead quality of music sucks on live recordings... but why cuz the dead rock i mean everyone and their mom knows that. The reason is....well their are a alot of differnt veriables to how mics are chosen or set up. If you set up two mics let's just say their SM-57 the most common mic in the business right in the sweet spot and you used the best Mic's EVER if you record the tape too hot your going to clip and then distort your recording. Also come on guys it's the grateful dead the only way it sounds good is if your at the concert or you have a head

Subject: Spring 94 was great
Subject: Spring 94 was great
Why would i write a review of a spring 94 show ? . Well , there were many for the records .
I remember that spring , i was 19 . I went on to see my 1st two Dead concerts later that summer . Beside some crowd noise ocassionally , this show has some energy . I love an unpredictable Cold rain followed by All over now opener . I remember that spring .. The cancellation of the field trip on August 92 was still fresh . All of 1993 ( ! ] was still so so fresh = ]
I had a friend who went and saw these 2 shows in OH ( I was living in Iowa ] . He had really good post show remarks . Also as opposed to the 16th and 17 th in Rosemont ( which ive owned and heard for a years ] . These shows are many notches above in fluidity , concentration etc . Not that the shows at the Rose in spring 94 werent good . But it seems as the band woke up , after that run ( Although ivent listened to the 18th ] .
Bobby W also sounds , from the start ON ( He stands out } . Playing dirty , mad and gnarly guitar . That the next night would climax with a potent pre drums for the ages ( Picasso moon - new speedway - Victim or the crime - he s gone }
I hold 1994 pretty dear in my GD memories . In Iowa , i remember we had a HE*K of a winter so spring time coming , and the Dead coming near was tremendous importance
By Lazy river Rd , we realize the band is completely determined to give a 5 star performance ; that almost fell with a bluffed end of All over now , and a lackluster candyman . From then on the show picks up ( with a roaring Let it grow ] .
I remember the band having had a great 1993 , in 1994 were determined and expected to deliver the goods . And they did . Over all this period in the band's music had so many surprises and good things to weigh out the boring or lackluster moments
If anyone remembers ' 94 at all , you ll remember that all eyes were on this band to give a summer tour for the ages , which they mostly and partly did , and in general to supply us with the great party music we all searched for - in a live setting or at home .
Thanks for posting this night in Richfield, OH

the sound is awful. I can't believe people can say this show sounds good. Sounds like when ReRun smuggled in a tape recorder to tape the doobie brothers. Come on people!

Subject: Great Show. Great Recording
Subject: Great Show. Great Recording
I recently downloaded the second night of this run at Richfield. And though I have never owned a '94 show out of my hundreds of recordings these two nights are really special. First let me say that Jerry's voice is the BEST I have EVER heard him sing. Everyone knows that though the boys had difficulty pulling it together in '94, the sound quality produced by the move to digital sound board was second to none. This show is an excellent audience recording with one exception. the geniuses who were standing left channel thought that their bullshit conversation was more momentous than the beautiful concert unfolding and therfore we are forced to try to tune them out for the entire show.
The two nights at Richfield alone have led me in search of other shows which may have survived the curse of '94. They are real gems. the 3-21-04 "He's Gone" is perhaps the best rendition ever done anywhere anytime in my opinion.
