A vote for Billy Kreutzmann is a vote for nature in the streets. Delicate, creme brulee. Robust and full, as well, somehow. Listen.

if a version has a bunch of people with less than +100 commenting then u know that its guaranteed fire. Lacerating early brent sugaree, thematic sequencing and blistering leads. stellar.

devils took some quaaludes at set break, Jerry and vince clearly want to speed up after the slow eyes and the drummers hold back, verses are sluggish. i nearly always skip them anyway. Excellent cresting nimble Jerry and really gorgeous lush silky playing in the jam. He hits that wes montgomery muted tone when phil starts weaving intricate lines and bobby gets fluttery and indeed, the pace starts getting hotter. Underrated for sure, don't be scared away by the shitty verses this one is quality

I have returned a couple times to the 10/17 version as well as the 3/31/91 and i need more monster 20+ minute 90's eyesies. i just need it. something happens when you go that long... there's a reason there are many 20 minuters from the inaugural year of 1973, even though i guess those had the outro material added. Back to this one-- wow. Languid, luxuriant, palatial pace, you can practically feel the sea breeze on this... by far the slowest one i've heard post 70's, and maybe ever. thrillingly unique and very well-oiled to boot, they are playing beautifully and sensitively. I mean wow this thing is fucking slow. feels like good karma.. vibe scientists. Definitely worth the listen, i'd give this version an 8 or 9. Better ones exist technically but it's awesome experimentation, gliding worry free freakshow ambient and it's a world unto itself, you can completely melt into it. Builds to a satisfying soaring peak if you are willing to take the ride. That 10/17/94 version though, like the scarlet fire from that run, i swear those might be the best versions of those songs ever done. Crazy thing about this one is you feel like it could go for even longer, the texture changes completely in the last two minutes
