.... best of the year? Autobahn billy and jer and keith locking into some mystical lyre-picking for phil and donna to channel hunter's almost-antipathic worldview for the composer himself to use what the last 5 years had taught him so beautifully.. it infuses hope to the endlessly-shifting modality of the way hunter would specify the turn of phrase in "believe it if you need it" - somehow embracing and rejecting spirituality at once - it's all so naturally involved with an effortless higher being of consciousness afforded with certified good ole membership
St. Stephen

.... doesn't get headier, blotted out sequence, gorgeous tighten up/eyes-ish jam gives way to freaky chemical feelin groovy/sugar mag hybrid a "shall we go" harmony, something here, there, everything twinkles into a fairylight eternity in a blink's time, then stephen rears his prophetic head in the floodlights. is there an evil forever silenced if only the lights are switched on them?
Dark Star
June 24, 1970
Capitol Theatre
A moving experience, so close to being lost forever yet saved from the abyss by Ken and judy, this magical version is so jazzy lush and transcendent, fuck yes. Glowing with a primordial state of infinite transition, constellation undulating across millenia of time and light, revealed to us in but an image, a film of existence
