Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
March 28, 1993
Knickerbocker Arena

this spritely, devilishly spirited scarlet fire deserves to have its champions. Its an under the radar beauty!!!! Lesh is just masterful, he is the anchor of this band in many ways. the way he deliciously plays around the beat and his articulations, and his development over time, all of it is just devastating. Transitions intuitively wobbles between fist pumping glory and jazzy exploration with plenty of that dope ass midi shit. Overall goes the distance and is quite the set up for set 2.
