Drums -> Space
Sept. 29, 1989
Shoreline Amphitheatre

The Devils dabble their paintbrushes of wonderment in what could be "Tribal ambient" esque textures. And space is formidable. Clarion 89 versh.

This jed hit the spot for me. nice and slow. And notable for wah wah solo. Keith's playing is melodic and oh so satisfying on this, he's energized. Kreutzmann's cymbal chokes are right on the money too. it's versions like this that show that every May 77 show is worth a listen.

holy moly this is awesome sauce. This is hoss sauce. Bobby is throwing chaw on lead vocals. Jerry Garcia, ladies and gentlemen..... God that second, longer solo is just a work of art, flying across the fretboard a hundred miles an hour, just blistering. The music is playing the band, just listen for yourself. It's kind of hidden in plain sight that the Dead were absolutely on fire in fall '84. I seriously need to check out this show, and more, from that tour. This Jack Straw is simply out of control, one of the best i've ever heard
