Promised Land
May 11, 1991
Shoreline Amphitheatre
this one is a gimme for Hornsby's jumpstart chops which makes for a devastating affair with jer and the guys lockin' in.

Drums -> Space
May 11, 1991
Shoreline Amphitheatre
Laconic and textural, devils hang loose. Chasms of endless spirals of blank fear only to be boingy wackjob cyberjazz, menacing, for OG 90's heads

Uncle John's Band
May 11, 1991
Shoreline Amphitheatre
High spirited and activated septet playing. Lengthy tonal solo and manic 7/4 takeoff

The Other One
Feb. 23, 1993
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum
Insane version of TO1 and surely one of the best you will find from the 90's, in no small part because JG finally has a true soloist foil in one of jazz's most exploratory and best improvisers, and they have one of the best damn backing bands ever in the GD right there all the way.
