Super heady and glorious drums. I love the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and fusion Miles (in addition to all eras). It's a wonderful delight to have Billy Cobham on this version. I fucking love the Grateful Dead but comparing Cobham to either Kreutzmann or Hart is like comparing Picasso to talented art school students. Both have a toolbox, just a different approachEven so, the drum solo is just as powerful and locked in as some of their really "On" 80's ones. I would say that greatness recognizes greatness all around. Great musicians work together to make something bigger than the sum of the parts.
