I Need A Miracle
July 20, 1994
Deer Creek Music Center

6 tracks pre-drums, a set chock full of patient, far-reaching playing. This is a perfect party time palate cleanser, searing.

Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again

A version that earns the submission. Inspired and filled out. Night prior is hot and the Deer Creek magic reigns.

Excellent generously stately and tumultuous intro. Laid back. Nice melt to black peter.

Denver Coliseum

Sparkly, twinkly wharf rat fairy dusted onto an autumn 73 set. but i'll get back on my feet someday bridge on this version is quite sad stuff. Then wall of sound PhilBombin' up phuckin' up yer head. Lucid and chunky, graceful and silvery wharf.

Uncle John's Band
Dec. 31, 1987
Oakland Coliseum Arena

Smashing version of UJB. a popular byte-sized line about the dead is that they were intentionally apolitical, but we can distinctly view the lyrics of UJB as a call for socialist and environmentalist humanitarianism, as well as "ain't no time to hate" and "are you kind?" as a rousing anti-fascist call. It's hard to say what the snake flag meant in 1970 audiences. But hey, Tucker Carlson and other Fox dipfuck acolytes go to dead shows. Goes to show, Not a group that had their head in the clouds thematically all the time, they had a pulse on things going on.
