Flaming smoker, snug like fav jeans washed. Magisterial bruce, mystically ascendant feelings. Hot nite

Far out Eyes>Picasso>Fingers>Saint... tremendous group effort. Flying colors, this version is wow. Painterly seeping aged beauties, glorious texture

Black Throated Wind

insistent and hard edged, and paradoxically, pillowy with the 2-keyboard whammy. Every bust out is special

Uncle John's Band
Dec. 31, 1987
Oakland Coliseum Arena

Smashing version of UJB. a popular byte-sized line about the dead is that they were intentionally apolitical, but we can distinctly view the lyrics of UJB as a call for socialist and environmentalist humanitarianism, as well as "ain't no time to hate" and "are you kind?" as a rousing anti-fascist call. It's hard to say what the snake flag meant in 1970 audiences. But hey, Tucker Carlson and other Fox dipfuck acolytes go to dead shows. Goes to show, Not a group that had their head in the clouds thematically all the time, they had a pulse on things going on.
