This one's got it!!! Great, as far as post-pigpen goes... Supported by diehard bobby energy and robustly happy mid 80's glide.

ron dials in!! The bygone days of slingin' Chess 45s round the room. Crackling with passion and effortless heavy groove

Crowd congeals on this one. Unstoppably creative phil, they go deep into the caverns of cosmic deaad, colombian antics and deluxe goodz.

Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
Feb. 26, 1973
Pershing Municipal Auditorium

Five-alarm heady alert, DS->Eyes->Mississippi , this must be a scarce if not singular example of this combination. For any Jerry ballad freaks out there (especially those who hold Wakeoftheflood in highest esteem among their records) this is all just deeply pleasurable. Strongman at the circus version of this unreleased masterpiece. Everyone is so warmed up, obviously, idk when else they played mississippi deep into set 2. greasy and turbo-charged.
Greatest Story Ever Told

Pershing Municipal Auditorium

No slouching on the heavy energy and powerful windmill, high-kicking rock god vibe of this greatest story, wailing!! A reprieve of classic spinning feel-good dead right in the thick of some meaty 73 jazz
Eyes Of The World

Pershing Municipal Auditorium

What a divine treat. Especially for the early gestation period of spring 73, this version destroys and plows along confidently exalting this love-child hymn. feverishly trippy, excellent version with inventive comping from billy and keith as well as bird evocations. The meticulous blend of the song proper with outro craziness, fresh off of a revelatory Dark Star, just keeps going and going in that shaman's donkey up the skinny dirty mountain bend. phenomenal journey and not to be missed
Dark Star

squishy bulbous Phd in deadology version. Best described as a fusion-y hurricane style shredfest, crunching smashingly back down to earth like the reason-tattering comet upon the core of our heart's moon, into full avant-garde space, into 18 mins of primal eyes

colorful, outrageous, bursting with life - Versions like this are why I keep scouring for more dead . The guys are flying as soon as the jam starts and it only gets more deconstructed and jazzy, cresting and arc-ing in delightfully digestible tidal waves, small foaming pools of liquid ecstasy. That groove at 7:35 is vicious. and another screaming outburst around the 11-minute mark perfect for face spacing
